Blogging the Election

7:35- HC is winning in Ohio. Texas is too close to call. I just ate a popsicle. I love popsicles.

7:36- Anderson Cooper is talking about voting irregularities in Texas.

7:37- For the record, I am supporting Hillary in this election. Period. Barack just seems like the liberal GW - likeable but totally inexperienced.

7:39- David Gergen is on CNN right now. He says Hillary's campaign will go on in PA no matter tonight's results. Meanwhile, Obama is up by 2K in Texas.

7:41- Now It's a 600 vote difference. C'mon Hillary!

7;43- What is a superdelegate? Why does Texas have a primary and a caucus? I need another popsicle.

7:44- Hillary just took the lead in Texas. This is strange.

7:48- Hillary is winning big in Ohio. Will it last? Does Sam Sharp smell as bad as his dad? Hohohoho.

7:49- Getting bored. Eating leftover brussel sprouts now.

7:50- The Project Runway finale is tomorrow. More excited about that then the election. And no, I'm not gay.

7:50- Brussel sprouts and popsicles do not mix.

7:51- John McCain won the GOP nomination earlier. Why does it seem like he is going to win it all? Someone told me once that white men decide elections. Will white men cling to one of their own? Hmmm.....

7:53- CNN is saying that Obama will ultimately win Texas based on vote in Houston and Dallas.

7:55- CNN just called Ohio for Hillary. So now it's on Texas. I should be working. FAS.

7:58- CNN is referring to Hillary as the comeback kid. Seems a little premature.

8:00- Hil is up 18K votes in Texas. CNN says it won't last. Donna Brazile is a handsome lady.

8:03- It's Hilary Silverboard's Birthday today. She spent the big day preparing for a presentation that she has to give to the board of Time-Warner tomorrow in New York. Wow. I think she celebrated with hot wings from 3 Dollar Cafe.

8:09- Alex Castellanos, the media consultant for the Romney campaign, is now speaking on CNN. He said an Obama loss would be like the killing the liberal Santa Claus. What a moron.

8:11- Hillary is about to speak. She looks good. Real good. Bruce is playing at her venue. Here she goes....

"Thank you Ohio."
(Applause)
"Thank you very much."
(Applause)
"I refuse to be knocked out."
(Applause)
"Mama said knock you out."
(Wild applause- chant of "yes she will!!!)
"Like Muhammad Ali they call me Cassius."
(Riot breaks out)
"LeMeow"

8:19- Hillary up 15K in Texas. Zzzzzzz.

8:40- Barack is speaking now. As always, he isn't saying anything. "We can say with clarity that we are ready to write the next page in American history." Huh? Now he is talking about Iraq. On this issue he makes more sense.

8:41- Damn, he's a good speaker.

9:15- Just talked to Brent. He's upset Obama told people to stop eating fast food.

9:50- CNN just called Texas for Hillary. Wow.

1. Re-read the New Yorker piece. She's a great manager and fighter but she doesn't lead, doesn't inspire. Before you say that's trite, think of this: she can rally the base (of both parties) but not expand it. He can. Look at the polls. He makes new people care and engage, and he disarms many haters. That's how we lower the vitriol and get things done. She revels in petty partisan warfare. You want still more of that? I don't. I'm ready for the future.

2. Yes, Donna Brazile is angelic.

My point - or frustration - is that he is all rhetoric - he gives no specifics. Additionally, he has no foundation to judge him on. And I am passed the point of taking a politician's word for it. You know, JFK was a lot of rhetoric too - but at least the guy was a war hero and had taken an active roll in prosecuting the unions and the mob...he had a record, and he had political achievements. What the hell has Obama ever done? Please answer that one.

Come to think of it, Dan, what has Hillary (Clinton, not Silverboard) ever done? She's only in her 2nd term as a senator. Prior to her being first lady, she's really had no substantial political experience to speak of. She got elected in New York despite never living there, voted the party line, and hedged on every politically sensitive issue. She is a brilliant woman, though her experience, when you think about it, is really comprable to GW's prior to his presidency.

As for political philosophy, face it, Barack and HC are virtually identical candidates with minor differences. They are both ardent students of the Keynesian economics and believe in the mass redistribution of wealth under the threat of incarceration. They believe in expanding our federal government's role as our nation's largest medical insurer. They are collectivists at heart. Barack probably has a larger cock (not by much though), and that's about it.
