California Inferno
I don't often talk about the weather, but an unusual set of circumstances has arisen which make it a necessary topic of discussion. The last few weeks the State has been on fire. (See photo below.) Here, in Sacramento, this has translated into smokey, disgusting air. The visibility from my office on the 18th floor is roughly 2 miles. You can barely see the sky. It's a nasty mess, the kind of thing that would make Jeremy really sweaty. The State has actually advised everyone not to leave the house. And now the Summer Central Valley heat has arrived. It's supposed to be 107 the next few days, with the heat index at 114. Saturday it will cool off at 102.
