McPickles News Endorses......Hillary

As the Presidential campaign has worn on, it has become apparent to the editors of McPickles News that the the best candidate is not on the ticket - that being Hillary Rodham Clinton. While Mr. Obama is no doubt inspirational, the Editors feel, generally, that he lacks experience and does not possess the full envelope of knowledge to be an effective President - at least it is anyone's guess. As to Mr. McCain, well, he has over the course of this campaign season sold out to the right wing of his party. Nothing exemplifies this more than his nomination of Ms. Palin as Vice-President. This is not to say that the Editors are entertained by her - they are - but it is to say that she is simply a rallying call for the base, and nothing else. Additionally, Mr. McCain and his policies, sadly, seem outdated.

As stated above, the "total package" candidate is missing from this election. Ms. Clinton has proven that she possesses the full set of skills and knowledge to lead this great country through the next 4 (or 8) years. Although we cannot agree with her health care package, the Editors do agree with almost every other policy set forth in her platform. Plus, let's face it, more than any other candidate, she has balls. It's just a damn shame.

The U.S. Missed Its Golden Opportunity. (McPickles News)

The sad fact, however, is that Ms. Clinton is not part of this election. And likely, she will not be part of the executive branch in the near term. That said, the Editors endorse....."That One." Let's just hope "The One's" self-righteous idealism actually translates to the real world.

Damm shame is right. We could have had a great
president. Instead we are settling for the anti-Bush
choice left to us. The Virginia group is considering a write-in for Hillary

Supply side economic theory is "outdated"? Wasn't Keynesian economics envogue for much of the 20th century, atleast until its symbollic end in the 1980's? Ironically, wasn't it Hillary's husband who in fact declared the end to big government?

Granted, the potential macroeconomic gains to be had by pure supply side theories were never fully realized during the last 30 years on account of increased government spending with each successive congress and president. Nevertheless, it is precisely the macroeconomic policy advocated by Hillary and Obama reminiscent of the New Deal and Great Society politic that will predominate during the Obama years.
